What I find fascinating more than anything when it comes to fashion, is what’s popular and trending in different regions. Los Angeles style is drastically different from New York City style, and New York City style is no way the same as Paris style. I thought it would be fun to launch a new segment and have popular bloggers around the world share what’s trending in their neck of the woods. But I don’t want to stop there, I want to learn a little insider information as well. A taste of what these bloggers’ lives are all about.
Today we are starting in Los Angeles with blogger Esther Collins from Girls Who Brunch. I mean how fab is her blog name!? Of course, I had to ask a few questions about where to eat as well as what’s the perfect look for brunch. I hope you enjoy!
Ellese Launer (me): Where is your favorite coffee/tea shop to visit in LA?
Esther Collins: My favorite coffee shop in LA in Alfred’s Coffee. I’m OBSESSED with their iced lattes, I would drink it every day if I could! Plus their coffee shops are very Instagram-able!
EL: Are you a beach girl or more a Beverly Hills babe? And why do you prefer that area?
EC: I would say I’m a little bit of both! I live closer to Beverly Hills than the beach and I love being in the heart of it all! But recently I have really enjoyed heading to the beach more. The west side is definitely way more chill! I have a feeling I’ll end up closer to the beach in a couple of years.
EL: What’s your absolute favorite brunch option (meal)? And where do you visit the most for brunch in LA?
EC: My favorite brunch meal would be the biscuits and gravy from Franklin and Co. It’s to die for. I love southern comfort food and this one hits the spot. Recently, I’ve really been loving Prospect Gourmand. It’s farm to table and everything is so delicious! I’m usually not a huge eggs benedict person, but theirs is hands down my favorite! Plus they usually give you a little sweet treat as an appetizer, like banana bread or something yummy!
EL: What’s the last movie you watched?
EC: The last movie I watched was Baywatch. Sadly I didn’t love it as much as I thought I would, but I obviously did enjoy watching Zac Efron and the Rock shirtless. And Priyanka Chopra is GOALS.
EL: What is your top style tip when dressing for brunch?
EC: Most of the time when I’m going to brunch with friends I try to keep it casual and comfy. I love wearing athleisure gear with a cute pair of sandals. If I’m going to a nicer place, or for a special occasion I love to throw on a simple dress, but keep it loose for all the food you’re going to consume!
