How To Show Up To Your Life For You

how to show up for your life for you

We all have this one life, don’t waste it away worried about what other’s think. Today we are discussing the last lesson on self love for this series, which is how to show up for your life for you! That means, only committing to things that make you happy, elevate you, or are worthy of your time. It also means going for your life dreams and stop viewing it from the sidelines. If you are ready, let’s begin!

Let Go Of What People Think

People pleasing is a real issue a majority of us have to some degree. We want to make everyone around us comfortable and happy while sacrificing our own dreams and needs. The thing is, you can’t make everyone happy. People will only be as happy as they choose to be, with or without your help. However, you can make yourself happy by doing the things that you’re truly passionate about.

If you are swayed by people’s judgment and criticism, this is the perfect time to learn how to place blinders on. One of the greatest tools that led me to success is the ability to allow everyone to think and feel whatever they want and still go for my dreams despite the judgment. Too much energy is wasted on what people think that could be used on reaching your goals. Understandably, it takes discipline to ignore people’s opinions and stay focused on the goal you set for yourself. But if you can master that discipline and focus, you’ll be incredibly happy with the results.

Only Commit To Your Happiness

How many appointments on your calendar feel like obligations rather than exciting events? Especially look at friend and social engagements. If there are more obligations than meetings that will add value, happiness, and are worth your time, then we have a problem.

Of course there will be things we don’t want to do in life, but if it is getting us closer to our goals and dreams it is a worthy cause. If it is not adding value, leading towards a goal, or is bringing happiness, then why are you doing it? Your life is not meant to be a long list of obligations. It is meant to be fun, lively, full of passion and excitement. The best advice is to slowly shift from committing to things you rather say no to, and start saying yes to the things that bring joy and ultimately closer to the life you want to live.

Go For The Big Dreams

Here is the truth, fear will ALWAYS be there. Every single person experiences fear. The difference is some will allow it to stop them for their dreams and others will push forward despite it. It’s truly up to you to decide how you will interpret fear. I found the best way to move past fear is talking yourself through it. Pump yourself up and realize that you have this one shot in life, do you want to risk it and get to the dreams you’ve always wanted, or will you play it safe and stay exactly where you are?

The second truth is this, there will NEVER be a perfect time to go for your dreams. Simply never. You’ll never feel ready to take the leap, finances will never fully be in your favor to move forward, and you’ll never be fully certain if this is the right step. However, if you believe in the dream and intuitively know this is the right direction for your life, that is all you need. Let go of the excuses of why you can’t/shouldn’t/or need to wait, and just go for it. Again, this is your only chance in life, don’t wait for the perfect moment to live it.

  2. I absolutely loved reading this. I agree that letting go of what others think is a big challenge but definitely worth doing. I also love the idea of going for the big dreams because fear will always be there, no matter what we do.

    Loved this really insightful post.
