Michael De Paulo presented his Fall/Winter 2016 collection during New York Fashion Week and it is breathtaking. It is hard to resist the glamour evoked in each evening gown and the multitude of textures of feathers, satins, tulle and sequins De Paulo combines. It is amazing to see a hand beaded bodice paired with ruffled fabric or delicately placed feathers. By keeping the color scheme in a jeweled tone, the formal wear carries a regal impression.
I appreciate that De Paulo isn’t afraid to play with different silhouettes. Not everyone has the opportunity to wear a full ballgown, which is why I was happy to see jumpsuits and his take on a ballet skirt in the collection. It adds a touch of personality, playfulness and accessibility to the line.
My personal favorite has to be the beautiful red number in front. So dramatic and gorgeous! The presentation happened to fall on Valentine’s day, and secretly wished I could have worn the dress to dinner.
