You have no idea how excited I am to review this product! It is nearly impossible to get your hands on Cocoa Brown 1 hour tan mousse because it is flying off the selves at Ricky’s NYC. Probably because Kylie Jenner was spotted on Instagram with the products, but most likely because it is an awesome self-tanner for the winter months to come.
So what makes Cocoa Brown 1 hour tan mousse better than the rest?
For starters, it is a natural based formula. It consists of vegetable derived DHA and has no parabens. This fact immediately caught my eye as I love my paraben free, plant based products.
Secondly, the self-tanner washes off and lasts for up to a week. I did a happy dance discovering this out because I didn’t want to be that girl who shows up and ruins couches with her streaky day tan.
When I recieved my bottle of Cocoa Brown tan mousse, I immediately gave it a whirl. Admittingly a new comer to this whole self tanning thing, I totally botched the first round. I wasn’t sure how much to put on, I didn’t prep my skin well enough, and was left with uneven tan lines. I laughed it off as a test run. What I did notice from the start was how much I loved the smell of the product. It kind of took me by surprise how the mousse smelled like fresh flowers. I half expected that chemically, weird stentch, but it wasn’t there!
I also noticed it wasn’t messy . I was preparing for the worse, like tan foot prints in the shower or gunk uncontrollably everywhere. But that didn’t happen! There was no mess to clean up. The only thing needed to be washed was the machine washable glove provided to apply the tanner.
I waited a few days to try again. This time I shaved the night before, and was prepared. The second time around was ten thousand times better. It was SUPER easy to apply. The mouse was light and fluffy in texture, slightly reminding me of shaving cream. Once smoothed on, it absorbs quickly and easily into my skin. It went on evenly without streaking as well. I noticed I needed a little more that a quarter size to cover my legs and that I didn’t need to rub it in as much as I had originally thought.
I waited two hours before rinsing, you can wait for one hour is you wish. I think the only awkward part of the process is waiting in the buff. The formula is a little sticky but it didn’t get anywhere. I sat on a white towel after the formula dried a bit, and it didn’t even get on the towel which is awesome. Once two hours passed, I rinsed off and again no mess in the shower.
The results? I have an even, really natural looking tan. It is settle, which I love! I am so impressed and happy with Cocoa Brown 1 Hour Tan Mousse. I cannot say it enough how amazed I am by the simple application process (once I got use to it), the no mess formula, the natural look of the tan, and how it smells amazing! I am also grateful that they used naturally derived ingredients and are paraben free. Massive thumbs up to the company for providing a healthy and safe way to stay tan all year long. You can order the product online, or find it at Ricky’s NYC.
I received the Product as a gift, but not paid for this post. All my opinions are of my own.
