It’s no secret at this point that I am love with the brand Rent The Runway (please sponsor me!). I have written about their services twice before. My initial review of the unlimited option and then my thoughts a year later after using the subscription. Those reviews stay true to how I feel, but since then Rent The Runway has added a few extra perks that have completely changed the game. Here’s what they are:
Nicholas K recently opened their first brick and mortar in New York City. The duo design team have always been one to watch during New York Fashion Week, and is thrilling to see their collection up close. “We wanted to have a canvas to share our vision, meet our clients and educate them about the versatility of each design and the fibers we use.” – Nicholas Kunz.
The store is located 435 Broome Street, the heart of Soho, and features the designers’ Fall 2018 collection. The space includes white wash floors, beautiful tall plants, and parachutes from the ceiling. The interior design concept reflects an eco-conscious and sustainability that the brand is known for. Nicholas K is part of the CFDA + Lexus Eco Initiative, championing conscious living, environmental stewardship, and social responsibility.
An emerging trend spotted on bloggers and celebrities alike is wearing a trench coat as a dress. Meghan Trainor recently wore the trend by Victoria Hayes, a New York City designer, at the TCA Upfronts in Hollywood. The multi colored iridescent trench coat is part of Victoria Hayes Fall 2018 collection.
I personally love how Meghan styled the look, keeping the attention on the beautiful trench coat by adding a few fun accessories such as the mega hoops. I am also excited to watch how others style a trench coat as a dress for the upcoming season. When done right, it is a classic look that will have heads turn. What do you think of the trend? Would you rock this Victoria Hayes trench? Let me know in the comments.
Today is a tragic day for the fashion industry. The talented designer Kate Spade, has passed in what seems to be an apparent suicide. Kate Valentine was discovered in her New York City apartment Tuesday morning unresponsive by her housekeeper. It appears the designer hanged herself with a scarf at her Park Avenue apartment. There was a note found at the scene.
She leaves behind her husband of 24 years, Andy Spade, her daughter, Frances Spade, and brother-in-law, actor David Spade. The news comes on the second day of the CFDAs New York Fashion Week, and the day after the CFDA awards which Kate Spade is a member of.
