Being Body Confident

Being Body Confident

It’s not much of a surprise that so many women aren’t feeling overly confident with their bodies these days. All you need to do is open a magazine, watch a TV show, or look at an advert to see that there are some astonishing social ideals of what women should look like – even though women’s bodies are all completely different.

So, body confidence is a fantastic idea, but a tough philosophy to follow. However, with a few hints and tips, it’s possible to learn how to love yourself for who you are, not what other people’s expectations are. Let’s take a look at some new ways of thinking to embrace who you are and start your journey on the road to being body confident.

Understanding body shape

The first step in the process is to develop an understanding of your body shape. It’s something you cannot change, and it’s just the way you are, regardless of how much weight you lose or put on. Once you know your body shape, you can find the right sort of clothes that will suit you, giving you more confidence with how you look on a daily basis.

Take your time

You can’t just say you are body confident if, deep down, you don’t believe it. All women have little things they don’t like about themselves, and while you can find out more details on how to make changes in some areas of the body, it’s not possible for all. You have to learn how to identify and overcome your problems over time, and it’s not something that will happen overnight. The following tips will show you exactly how to love your body just the way it perfectly is.

Work hard to get fit

The fitter and healthier you are, the better you will feel about yourself – it’s that simple. Working out will help you lose weight, tone up, and look your best – and it gives you a  healthy glow that no makeup will ever give you. Give it a try, and you will find that your attitude to your own body starts to change dramatically. You will be proud of how you look, and the imperfections – that everyone has, don’t forget – will become less of a problem for you. PS, it has nothing to do with numbers and sizes, it is all about respecting your body and being healthy. That is where the true glow and confidence comes from.

Embrace your differences

The world would be a boring place if we all looked exactly the same. So, embrace your differences, and try to keep societal ‘ideals’ out of your mind. Comparing yourself to others is not going to you any good, and if you can learn to satisfy yourself and not care about anyone else, your body confidence will start to soar.

Thank your lucky stars

Struggling to stop comparisons with the supermodels you see on TV? Try seeing yourself in the same light as you see these supermodels. Write down everything you are grateful for. It can be as simple as the ability to see, to loving your legs. Everyday read out all that you are grateful for in your body. Start creating affirmations around these areas of gratitude and then fill in with some affirmations around areas you want to see change. This is a game changer in becoming confident in your body.
