I love oils and especially coconut oil. I lather in it after a hot shower or bath. The benefits of coconut oil are incredible and it is super easy to incorporate the powerful ingredient into any part of a beauty routine!
Why coconut oil is so amazing for your internal and external health:
- It is a safe and ultra moisturizer for your skin
- Prevents early signs of aging due to antioxidant properties
- Contains anti-fungal properties ( helps with yeast infections or athletes foot)
- Helps hair re-growth and nourish damaged hair by providing certain proteins
- Used for weight loss due to its easy ability to digest and won’t get stored as fat
- Strengthens your immune system
- Eliminates mental fatigue
- Strengthens teeth and stops decaying by reducing plaque build up (oil pulling!)

Here are ways you can use it every day in your beauty routine:
Makeup Remover- extremely healthy and nourishing way to remove makeup after a long day with ease. It leaves your skin moisturized and won’t pull or tug on sensitive skin (which helps prevent aging). Place on your face, let it sit, then wipe away with a facial towel.
Leave in Conditioner- if your hair is looking for a little help, add a small amount to wet hair. This will nourish and support stronger hair.
Face Cream– similarly, if your skin is looking for extra moisture, massage coconut oil on your skin before going to sleep. The antioxidant properties help reduce the appearance of fine lines.
Teeth Whitner– use coconut oil for oil pulling to reduce plaque and whiten your teeth! It will also promote calcium intake and help fight gum disease due to antifungal properties.
Makeup brush cleaner- just how coconut oil gently removes makeup from your face, it will do the same for your brushes!
Natural highlighter– if you want to use it with your makeup, add it to the tops of your cheekbones as a highlighter and they will glisten all day.
Shaving Cream- if you are like me and are allergic to other shaving creams, use coconut oil instead. Place a layer before shaving, it will leave your legs super soft and smooth.
DIY Body Scrub– want an affordable way to nourish your body while removing dead skin? slightly melt coconut oil in a pot over low heat. Remove the oil from the stove and pour over sea salt, coffee grounds and/or brown sugar. Mix well! Have fun making your own versions of scrubs, you can always add essential oils for fragrance if you wish.
