Often, people struggle with their mental health because they get into bad habits and thought processes which makes the problems worse. Cut Down On Alcohol

So many people use alcohol as a way to relax and relieve stress, which they assume is good for their mental health. But if you start drinking too often, it can actually have the opposite effect. While it might make you feel more relaxed right there and then, in the long term it will increase feelings of anxiety and depression. You can also become reliant on alcohol to feel relaxed and keep your feelings of stress and anxiety under control and that’s when people run into problems. That doesn’t mean that you can’t drink at all, just make sure that you’re not doing it too often. The most important thing to consider is the reasons that you’re drinking. If you’re out with friends having a good time, that’s not a problem. But if you’re using it as a way to manage your feelings and relax, that’s not good.

Spend Less Time On Social Media

We’re all guilty of spending too much time on social media, especially when you’re bored and you’ve got nothing else to do. It’s so easy to pull your phone out and have a scroll, but it could be having a negative impact on your mental health. We read way too much into social media and if you’re on it all of the time, you will start to constantly compare yourself to other people online. When people are posting loads of pictures of them traveling or doing fun things with their friends, it’s easy to think that everybody else has it much better than you and you must be doing something wrong. But what you’ve got to remember is that people post a very carefully curated version of their lives. It’s all of the good bits and none of the bad. They’re probably struggling with all of the same issues that you are, you just don’t see that side of it. So many people end up with body image issues or self esteem issues because of the content they’re seeing on social media.

Lack of sleep is another big problem caused by social media because people are sitting in bed scrolling away for hours instead of getting a good night’s sleep. You don’t have to give up social media completely because it can be a positive thing, just make sure that you’re not reading into it too much and you see it for what it is.

We’re constantly thinking about ten different things at once and trying to juggle a busy schedule and most of us don’t take the time to just sit for ten minutes and shut all of that noise out. That’s why meditation is so great for your mental health. It’s a big part of alternative therapies like energy healing and if you follow a program of meditation, you could transform your life with energy healing and make some significant improvements to your mental health. You don’t need to meditate for hours every day to see a difference, even just ten minutes every night before you go to bed can help. There are plenty of great apps like Headspace or videos on Youtube that will take you through the process and teach you how to meditate properly.

Exercise

Everybody knows that exercise is great for your physical health, but a lot of people underestimate just how important it is to your mental health as well. It can be difficult to fit exercise into a busy routine but you should try to do a workout a few times a week at least and make an effort to be more active in general. It makes a big difference in your mood.
