You may notice a few new things around here. That is because I am transforming the blog into the ultimate, holiday bazaar! “I love holidays, I love holidays, yes I do!”
I blame it all on being born on Christmas.
You may ask, “So how is this going to be the one stop holiday destination?”
To which I respond, “Great question!”
First, you will notice a countdown clock to Christmas and Hanuka in the sidebar. Reminding you how many days are left until present time!
Speaking of presents, you will notice in the top menu a new tap called Holiday shop. Under this tap, there are drop-down menus featuring gifts for him, gifts for her, and gifts for under $50. Each will bring up a page of presents for everyone on your list.
There are also two other tabs named holiday decor and holiday fashion that will bring you to a page full of ideas to help you prepare for the season. Check back periodically as more items will be added!
That’s only the beginning! These next two months you can expect plenty of beauty tips and styling tricks for Christmas parties, office parties, brunches and New Years Eve galas. I will also have a special guide to remain sane during this time of year (we all have family that drives us nuts). Make sure to subscribe to stay in the loop for those future posts!
Lastly, I will be sharing Black Friday and Cyber Monday codes that will help you dominate this year’s biggest sales. Nothing better than to saving a few bucks!
In all, I want to make this holiday season the easiest, most joyful time of year. If you have any suggestions on what you’d like to read during the holidays, let me know in the comments below!
In the spirits of World Vegan month, I am sharing some super cute faux leather and faux fur jackets (plus accessories)! The days are starting to cool down, but it’s not exactly parka wearing weather yet. Faux leather jackets make the best in between outerwear while still looking chic. For evenings that are slightly cooler, try faux fur jackets. They will upgrade your outfit while keeping you toasty warm.
The faux leather jacket I am wearing in these photos is from Lulu*s. It is currently sold out, but I found a similar look here and more affordable look here. One of my favorite faux leather brands that I have been following for years is BLANK NYC, which I’ve listed below. The way they drape the material is brilliant. Plus I find them to be relatively affordable for the quality they provide Feel free to click to shop!
Faux leather purses seem to be harder to spot, but I manage to find some gorgeous pieces from Nordstroms. I love these handbags because the quality and workmanship is perfection. What do you think?

In honor of world Vegan Month, which is November every year, I wanted to share my story of why I went Vegan. I am not here to convince anyone to go Vegan, that is your choice. I am not sharing graphic photos of animals being harmed. I am just explaining my reasoning to go Vegan, and how I got there.
Growing up I ate meat and animal products like most of us. I didn’t think twice about it because it was deemed normal. “Drink milk to get calcium, eat meat for protein,” they said. The FDA food pyramid had meat and dairy as a main source of nutrients. Everyone was spewing the same message, so it seemed accurate.
Fast forward many years later, I noticed more of my family members getting sick from cancer, my own body reacting to certain foods, and a poor relationship with my body image. Unable to just settle with the standard quo of “Oh, well this is life”, I began researching. I looked up foods that prevented cancer. I began cooking more at home. I noticed a radical shift in how I felt in my own body just by eliminating processed takeout food.
I was still eating animals and dairy products. I thought I was doing a great job being healthy until my weight began to yo-yo again, I had low energy, feeling depressed and was getting sick. I eventually contracted food poisoning from Mac’ N Cheese, that had me unable to eat food for three weeks. My body had never gone through something so violent like that before. Intuitively I knew I had to do more in regards to how I ate.
I became frustrated because I knew I wasn’t at my fullest potential yet. People around me commented, “you look great, don’t be too hard on yourself.” That could be true. On the outside, I may seem healthy, but internally I knew I wasn’t. A piece of the puzzle was still missing.
So I continued to do research, and that is when I found the YouTuber Freelee the Banana Girl. She was able to connect the dots that I couldn’t. I highly recommend viewing her videos if you are an animal lover like me and want to see the reality of what we are putting in our bodies. I literally couldn’t stop watching her videos as a rush of clarity came from each. Here is one of the videos:
I rewatched Forks Over Knives to remind myself the healthy benefits of eating a plant-based diet. The scientific data that documentary provides is undeniable.
Then I watched the documentary, Cowspiracy, which discusses the environmental effects of eating animals. This topic is widely unspoken of and rarely discussed because in the US it is illegal to talk about it. You will be sued, found guilty, and possibly go to jail. Why? Because you are potentially affecting the economy of the country. So to finally hear the truth of what is going on, was the last piece of information I needed to go Vegan.
Why I went Vegan:
I love animals, all animals
I love this planet
I have compassion for others
and I love myself
This one simple way of eating seems to be the solution for all the above.
Each day I am Vegan I am saving (as noted in Cowspiracy):
1,100 gallons of water
45 pounds of grain
30 ft of forest land
20 pounds of CO2 equivalent
1 animal’s life
Not only that but I am reducing, practically eliminating, my chances of heart disease, cancer, and other illnesses.
Personally what I noticed is, I have a much healthier relationship with my body. It hasn’t physically changed much, but I love it more. I find myself laughing a lot more, my skin looks better. I feel lighter and happier. I have more energy to work. My cravings for sweets late at night have been eliminated. Food actually tastes better! Believe me, we live in a world where there are plenty of Vegan options that are so freaking delicious!
Most importantly, I feel good knowing an animal didn’t suffer from what I ate today and that I am contributing to a greater cause.
My next agenda is really educating myself on Vegan beauty and clothing products. If you have any suggestions or helpful pointers, please let me know in the comments below. I will never judge you for how you live and what you eat, it is your choice! I just thought it would be nice to share my personal experience and story.

Today I am sharing a few of my favorite fall beauty products that are affordable and uber healthy! Not only do these products keep me beautiful, but they also keep the environment and our animal friends happy too.
Click to Shop. If you click the Woodzee logo, it will lead you to cool sunnies on sale for $68!
To start, I am in love with this Woodzee toothbrush which is made from bamboo. They are better known for their fun bamboo sunglasses like this one, but just came out with a line of toothbrush that only cost $5. Their products are biodegradable, and with each Woodzee purchase the company plants a tree. It feels good knowing that I am not contributing to the 50 million pounds of plastic toothbrushes thrown into landfills each year.
Most people think sunscreen is just for summer. The reality is sunscreen is needed year round to prevent early signs of aging and skin cancer. I am obsessing over Kiss My Face sunscreen, which is an amazing natural sunscreen that is also cruelty-free and vegan-friendly. Plus it feels so hydrating and refreshing when I apply it on my skin!
Colder weather equals drier skin and hair. This season I am using 100% Argan Oil by Physicians Formula. The oil comes from Morrocco, and the only ingredient is Argan oil. Pure and simple! Not only do I use this for my hair, but also my face, neck, and décolletage. The reason I love it most is that it is free from harmful additives.
For my hands, I can’t get enough of Manuka Secrets hand crème from New Zealand. It is a lush creme that sinks into my skin using honey’s healing properties. It feels heavenly! This company uses certified natural ingredients to provide a wholesome, good-for-you product. No need to fly to New Zealand, you can pick this up at Ulta!
Lastly, to keep my lips from chapping I am using beauty lover’s cult classic Rosebud Perfume Co lip balm in Rose & Mandarin. I am not kidding when I say tastes like orange marmalade, which makes me really happy. It is also cruelty-free and paraben-free, which makes me even happier.
