Five Ways to Transform Your Thanksgiving Dinner Table

Next week kicks off the holiday season with Thanksgiving! Can you believe it’s that time of the year?! Family and friends will come together and share their gratitude lists while feasting on delicious foods.

In order to prepare for the beautiful holiday, I’m sharing five Thanksgiving dinner table ideas that will transform an ordinary dinner into something magical. These suggestions are simple to incorporate and won’t cost too much. If you order online today, they will arrive just in time for dinner!

Here are five ways to turn your Thanksgiving dinner table into a beautiful gathering:

Place Cards

The simplest yet most transformative detail are place cards. Incorporating beautiful place cards help welcome guests into a lovely meal. I love these from Etsy that you can customize or these glitter place cards ! If you rather make your own cards, try these holders from target for an added fall touch!

Nature

I love seeing pieces of nature on the dinner table, whether it is acorns or branches. I find them festive and fun ways to bring another layer to the dinner table. Take a look at this table setting for inspiration! A simple way to recreate this look is to take a wreath like this one (on clearance!) and lay it flat in the center of the table. Then fill it with different size candles to create a beautiful centerpiece.

Holiday Poppers/Crackers

One of my favorite memories after a delicious meal during the holidays were opening Poppers. These paper presents contain small gifts inside as well as a paper crown, and a joke or riddle. A great way to add them to the dinner table is after the main feast and before desert. Have everyone open their popper and go around the table to share the riddle or joke inside. People will automatically place their paper crowns on and play with their small gifts. It usually ends in a lot of laughter and is something fun for every age.

Cloth Napkins and Metallic Holders

There is something really comforting and inviting about having cloth napkins at Thanksgiving dinner. It feels more personal as well. My favorite napkins are from Crate&Barrel.

Small Gifts

Small gifts are a nice way to give thanks. It doesn’t need to be expensive, it could be  something sweet or a small holiday candle! You can place the small gifts on the table where each guest will be seated. It is a nice way to start the meal and the day of Thanksgiving.

Next week I will share what gifts to bring a host! Stay tuned for that or subscribe here to be sent the gift list directly when it is published!

Best Places to Shop for Home Goods

If you have been following along on snapchat, you’ll know I just moved! Again! If you haven’t been following along (username: rockpaperglam) then let me brief you what has easily become one of the most stressful and intense past few months I’ve had in awhile. Basically, I was promised an apartment that fell through at the very last second. As in the day before I was supposed to move, I was told the place wasn’t ready. Then I was told, the place won’t be ready for two more weeks. Then that it wasn’t going to happen… Girl can’t catch a break! But lo and hold, all good things comes to those who wait are persistent in what they want.

I found my apartment with all the bells and whistles, and now it is time to decorate! I love this part of the process. Turning a blank canvas into a home. I’ve listed a few of my favorite places to shop for home goods that are budget friendly.

Target

My favorite budget-friendly place to shop for home decor. You can still score designer pieces from Nate Berkus at a reasonable price. I was talking to my mom recently, and we both agree that the high end retails are producing the same quality as Target and other budget friendly places. Just an FYI, Target is having a huge 20% off on bed and bath! Woot Woot! I feel my luck changing.

TJ Maxx

Oh man, I can hunt for hours in TJ Maxx. This store is all about the details, which is why I love picking up a few cute home goods when I stop in. Great news, you can shop online for even bigger savings!

Crate & Barrel

Crate & Barrel is my favorite place to go roam kitchen goods. I can often find great prices on high-quality pieces to cook with. Check out these babies!
