Girl Boss on the Move

I am the first to admit, I have a hard time staying still. Blame it on all the moves I’ve endured growing up (well over 20 different places), or the fact that I come from a line of entrepreneurs, seeking out the next great adventure comes naturally.

I think traveling, exploring, and experiencing new aspects of life is important for a Girl Boss. As an entrepreneur, it opens my eyes to see what people need. As a creative individual, the different colors, textures, and sounds fuels my imagination. As a human being, it nourishes my soul.

Back To School Shopping: Casual Look

Song for this article is Give Me Something by Jarryd James

It has been awhile since I’ve had to buy books, rulers, or pencils for classes. But I’ll never lose the love for back to school shopping. There is something invigorating and exciting about it. I am, to this day, anxiously anticipating what fall will bring. New experiences, new challenges, new goals to meet.

Of course, my favorite part of the experience of back to school shopping is buying new clothes. All the comfy sweaters, new denim pants, new silhouettes. I feel Fall is the beginning of a new phase in Fashion as well. New trends emerge that we have yet seen. It feels fresh and crisp as the Fall air. I just love it!

This look reminds me a lot of the first day of class either at high school (if I didn’t have to wear a school uniform) or even college. Brand new white platform tennis shoes, cute black skinny jeans, and a simple mock turtleneck top. Actually, my top is a bodysuit. It is the first bodysuit I have ever purchased and I am now officially in love with them! You never have to worry about your shirt untucking.  All I am missing is an amazing backpack and some lockers to lean on.

Goodbye Summer, Until Next Year

Most people don’t know this but I started Rock Paper Glam as a way to talk about not only fashion but music. If you know me, you know my adorations and unforgiving affair with music. It is as part of me as my own hands feverishly typing away this last summer article.

I want to test something out. It could be fun or a fail, but I thought I would pick one of my favorite songs of the moment to accompany my articles. It will be either from Youtube or Spotify, and you can play it in the background while reading this piece. THIS IS NOT SPONSORED, this is just something I thought would be fun. The summer song that I felt fitting to this piece is King of Summer by Ayokay Featuring Quinn XCII…. Enjoy and let me know if you like this idea in the comments below!

Summer is winding down. Most people are sad about the idea of sunny days and long nights vanishing to cooler weather. But I am eager. I cannot wait. This summer has been difficult, to say the least. To quickly sum up what my summer had been like, it was 1 car crash (not our fault), 1 concussed mother, a move and 3 months of being annoyingly sick. At the end, I just threw my hands in the air and said, “I give up!” Summer ’16 was just not in my favor. So what. There is always more summers, more season, more chances to create fun memories.

These photos are of me embracing the shorter nights to come and looking forward to the change of weather. Soaking up the last bits of Summer sun but excitedly waiting to see what September and my favorite season, Fall, will bring.

Give ‘Em The Cold Shoulder

Still trending is the off the shoulder look. Who else has been loving this trend?! It has been my favorite go-to for a simple yet beautiful outfit. This time around, I have switched the ruffles for slits and ruching. The silhouette is a sleek, city-chic style. I found it easy to pair with black slacks and flats for a day of walking around the city. I personally love the bell sleeves, something I haven’t seen on many other off the shoulder tops.

I also appreciate the rust color, as it will make this piece easy to transition into the cooler weather. I’d pair it with black faux leather leggings and boots for the perfect fall look. The length is just perfect to be a summer or fall top.

I took this look up and down Fifth Avenue, including a short coffee break at the Grand Salon in the Baccarat Hotel. If you ever get a chance to visit New York, take yourself to this gorgeous place for a light bite and coffee. It is a stunning environment tucked away in the midst of the busy city.

My off the shoulder moment

This is one of my favorite trends for spring! Off the shoulder blouses doused in a ton of ruffles and preferably in blue. There is something so fun and playful about this look. In fact, I couldn’t stop twirling in my oversize blouse. Pairing the look with my new favorite cat-eyed sunglasses made the look that much better. I am starting realize that eyewear isn’t made to be taken seriously. I am really getting into wearing something funky! The funkier the better, right? Fashion is meant to be fun after all!

I like styling this look with a simple pair of black denim pants and no fuss tan sandals. The emphasis here are the ruffles in all their glory. This is a perfect outfit for while grabbing coffee or brunch with friends.

What do you think of this look? Would it be something you’d try for Spring?

P.S. I totally changed from my mule heeled sandals to my favorite Pumas half way through the day, and instantly became happier! Does that ever happen to you? Does putting on your favorite shoes change your mood?

A few months ago, I took the plunge. I signed up for Rent the Runway Unlimited. This is where Rent the Runway unlimited stepped in as the best option. Rent the Runway unlimited is a monthly subscription for $139 + tax you are able to borrow three at a time.

This is what I experienced:

3 Transitional Coats You Need for Spring

Spring is one of those tricky seasons where it is still rather cool out especially in the evenings, but it is just too darn exciting to see the peek of warmer weather during the day. While a coat is still very much needed, it doesn’t need to be a heavy wool peacoat. Try one of these three light-weight jackets that will instantly update your look for Spring.

The fun part of these three styles is that it will take your staples and turn them into three very distinct looks. To demonstrate, I wore the same base outfit (V-neck top, Banana Republic black pants 40% off with code SPRINGFUN, Vince Camuto black heels and Loft aviators) with each jacket style. Watch as the look complete changes with each coat!

Faux Leather Jacket

Such a classic Spring jacket that keeps your style edgy and fierce. This look is perfect for concerts, casual brunches with friends or date night. There are plenty of faux leather jackets that look  better than real leather. Mine is from Blackswan Clothing, but here are a few of my favorites:

Trench Coat

Another absolute classic is the tan trench coat. While very structured lapels look too boxy on my body frame, I opted for a softer silhouette. I love that the drawstring cinches the waist and the sleeves have elastic cuffs adding a bit more of a feminine touch. Mine is from Zara. Here are more amazing trench coat options:

This coat style has been trending every since Kim Kardashian stepped out in one last year. I think it is a beautiful trend that can really take a simple outfit and turn it into a glamorous look. I especially love the olive green color of this duster, a color we will see a lot of this upcoming fall and winter. Mind is from W by Worth. Here are a few more of my favorite duster jackets that will make your Spring look complete:

Wide Leg Pants & Winter Whites

Trends, trends, trendy trends. One trend that is coming and staying for 2016 is the must have wide leg pants. And I am obsessed. It is time to change up the silhouette with booming wide leg pants that makes walking that much more fun.

I particularly love the feel of the fabric swaying with each step. I feel powerful, in charge, as if I am saying, “Look out world, I am coming through!”

The High Line & Firmoo Sunnies!

Exploring every nook and cranny of New York  is one of my favorite parts of living in this magical city. For the past 6 1/2 years, I’ve been venturing to the High Line. Practically ever since this “park in the sky” was built, it has been my oasis. I remember in the warm summer months right as dusk fell, there used to be a cabaret show from one of the ladies who dwelled in the apartments overlooking the High Line. She would sing classic broadway songs to about twenty of us marveling in disbelief that we happened upon a free show.

From sunsets to sunbathing, the High Line has it all. Even in the cooler weather, it is nice to be above the honking taxis and racing über drivers. But if there is one thing I’ve learned the hard way it is, never venture the High Line without a great pair of sunglasses!

Today I am wearing my new pair of sunglasses from Firmoo, an online optical store housing a plethora of affordable glasses and sunglasses. I chose the #CM8059 in tortoise-shell with priority shipping. I received them quickly in the mail with a beautiful hardcover sunglass case, a soft pouch, and a pink lens cloth. They even sent a small tool to tighten the screws in the lenses if they become loose. They really thought of everything!

I chose this particular style because I love how big they are. I am also loving the colored mirrored lens trend happening right now and wanted in on the fun. They are very comfortable, not pinching anything nor are they heavy. It feels weightless on my face. The double bridge bar makes these sunglasses stand out from the rest, which I really enjoy. The best part, they are only $19! Isn’t that crazy?

I thoroughly enjoy the customer service as well as my new sunglasses from Firmoo. Now it is your turn to try these on for size!

One lucky reader has the chance to win a pair of glasses from Firmoo. All you need to do is comment below with any of these Firmoo styles you’d like to win. Then like my Page on Facebook. That’s it!
