Last month, I was fortunate enough to experience brunch at the infamous Lotte New York Palace. I’ve been in awe of the establishment since the days of Gossip Girl. But even before that huge television series filmed at the hotel, I have been in love with the architecture nestled behind Saint Patrick’s Cathedral. The beautiful structure has been there since 1882.
I had a gorgeous brunch in celebrations of Gina’s birthday. The service was impeccable, very attentive and gracious. The moment we walked in the server brought a round of drinks to the table. I started with a refreshing cocktail from their menu while gazing at the brunch options. There were so many choices, it was hard to decide! While glancing through, we were presented with a flight of juices. Each one was delicious. I never had an avocado and green apple juice before, but it tastes amazingly refreshing. I enjoyed the mango juice the most. The last juice was a beet blend that was sweeter than I’d ever had.
For the table, we ordered the lemon pancakes and french toast. My favorite is the lemon pancakes, I could have eaten the entire stack on my own. The flavors were unique yet really came together as bright sweet morning dish. It wasn’t heavy at all.
I ended up ordering the avocado toast sans prosciutto and egg as my main dish. I am a vegetarian and they accommodated my dietary needs seamlessly. The waiter, in fact, suggested this dish as an option and made the necessary adjustments without hesitation.
I finished my entire plate, plus had part of the pancakes and french toast. I was satisfied at the end of the meal, not overly stuffed.
We ended the brunch with a sweet and caffeinated cocktail and of course birthday cake. The espresso shot and gin cocktail is by far my favorite. It was sweet but not overly sweet. The orange bitters cut through the sweetness. The perfect way to end the meal.
I hope this helps you and your next dining experience at the Lotte New York Palace.
